Arsenal Transfers: 6 Strikers Wenger Must Sign Before Deadline Day

2. Edinson Cavani

A more 'marquee' option for Wenger this summer is Edinson Cavani. The striker only joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer after leaving Napoli but has found life difficult in the French capital following the switch, and is reportedly unsettled at the Parc des Princes, according to the Express. That's because Zlatan Ibrahimovic has taken centre stage under manager Laurent Blanc as the club's main striker with Cavani often shunted out of position to accommodate the Swede. And, despite managing an impressive 16 Ligue 1 goals from 30 games last term, PSG are reportedly in the market for Real Madrid's Karim Benzema before the window shuts, casting fresh doubt over Cavani's position at the club. The Gunners would have to pay out of their noses to make any move to England come to fruition, with Cavani worth an estimated £50 million, meaning the London side would have to make him their club-record transfer signing to bring him to the Emirates. However, the 27-year-old is the sort of star performer Arsenal fans have been crying out for in recent years and he would undoubtedly be a fantastic signing for the club.
