2. Luis Gustavo

As well as an attacking midfielder, Arsenal also need a defensive midfielder this summer. The Londoner's have missed Alex Song at times following his switch to Barcelona last summer and their engine room has looked lightweight occasionally. The Gunners need that extra bit of steel to protect the defence and Brazilian midfield enforcer Luis Gustavo could play that role. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the 26-year-old, who has just enjoyed a phenomenal season with Bayern Munich, winning the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League. Yet Gustavo's future at the Allianz Arena has been the topic of speculation in recent weeks with the player
refusing to rule out a move this summer. The midfielder, who can also play at left-back, is available for £15 million and could leave now that his place in Bayern's starting XI is no longer guaranteed following the arrival of Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona.
