1. History Being Made
Regardless of the result Saturday night, history will have been made by at least one of these sides. Were Borussia Dortmund to emerge victorious, they would have claimed only their first Champions League trophy since 1997 when they triumphed over Juventus 3-1. Meanwhile, if Bayern Munich prevail, they will have won their fifth European Cup, joining Liverpool as the joint-third most successful team in the competition's history, behind AC Milan and Real Madrid. The final itself is a historic one. It is the first ever all-German Champions League final and the first all-German European cup final since the 1980 Uefa Cup final, which was won by Eintracht Frankfurt on the away goals rule. And both sides can be proud in the knowledge that they have helped mark this historically momentous occasion. Want the latest team news for the Champions League Final? Read our Match Preview.
