Midfielder: Steven Gerrard
For the next slot in the team, the 5-a-side team requires a box-to-box midfielder with an ability to defend. While not an outright defensive midfielder (though he was utilised as one by Gerard Houllier), Steven Gerrard is an engine who will help his team out all over the pitch and can defend when necessary. Having remained loyal to his only team - Liverpool - for the entirety of his career, Gerrard has never won the Premier League, but has won many other honours, such as the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League, and has been Liverpool's standout player for much of his 15 years as a senior professional, as well as one of the best all round performers in Premier League history.
