Best Uncapped Spurs XI Of The Premier League Era

1. Striker: Chris Armstrong

Spurs have had some great strikers in the Premier League era - Jurgen Klinsmann, Teddy Sheringham, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Dimitar Berbatov, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, for example - and they usual get international caps. A few haven't and the best of the bunch is probably this guy. Chris Armstrong joined Spurs in 1995 from Crystal Palace for £4.5 million which, at the time, made him both Spurs' record signing and Palace's record sale. Although Armstrong was actually quite a prolific striker in his time at Spurs, he never attained the popularity of some of their other big-name strikers and was subsequently never recognised at full international level - with a solitary B-team cap in his time at Crystal Palace the closest he ever came to a full call-up. Armstrong scored 48 Premier League goals for Spurs in 117 starts and 24 substitute appearances, which isn't bad at all, and he also scored a further 14 goals in 32 appearances in other competitions. His strike partners at Spurs included the likes of Teddy Sheringham, Jurgen Klinsmann and Les Ferdinand but, as previously touched upon, he never got the kind of recognition they got, despite some good performances. So there you have it - the best uncapped Spurs eleven of the Premier League era. Did you enjoy this article? Do you agree with the entries on this list?
