Spurs have had some great international centre backs in the Premier League era - Ledley King, Sol Campbell, Jan Vertonghen, Jonathan Woodgate and Younes Kaboul to name but a few - and what's left isn't overly inspiring. Around the same time that Spurs were signing a small army of former Wimbledon players - Neil Sullivan, Ben Thatcher, John Scales and yvind Leonhardsen to name a few - Chris Perry arrived at White Hart Lane for £4 million from the notorious Crazy Gang. Perry was never an outstanding defender and, at 5' 9", was hardly the tallest or best in the air, but he was relatively reliable and consistent and he made 120 Premier League appearances for Spurs, scoring three goals in the process, as well as 26 further appearances in other competitions. He had one hell of a bite to his game - as you would expect of a former Wimbledon man - but he never got recognition from any England coaches. He went on to play for Charlton Athletic, West Bromwich Albion, Luton Town and Southampton before retiring in 2010.
