Match Preview

Borussia Dortmund officially lost their battle to retain their Bundesliga crown at the weekend, with Bayern Munich securing the championship in record time. Jurgen Klopp's men will now have to switch their attentions to the Champions League and the best way of overcoming their domestic disappointment is by marching into the semi-finals of Europe's most prestigious club competition. Dortmund are one of this season's dark horses and having topped the so called "Group of Death" in the formative stages of the competition, will be full of confidence having seen off the like of Ajax, Real Madrid and Manchester City already this season. Though the German's will clearly be disappointed not to have retained their league title, tonight's opposition Malaga have off-the-field problems of their own. Due to breaching Financial Fair Play sanctions, they have been banned from contesting next season's Champions League, regardless of how they fare this season. The Spaniard's will nevertheless by hoping to continue their dream run in this competition. They are making their debut in the tournament this season and have been one of its surprise packages, seeing off 2004's winners Porto in the round of 16 prior to this encounter. The dream of winning the Champions League will be enough to see them push through the disappointment of being disqualified for the 2013/14 season, but we're expecting their brave run to come to an end tonight. Though the tie is finely balanced at 0-0, Manuel Pellegrini's side have won only twice in the last five games. Even more ominously, tonight's hosts have belted in 15 goals in their last 4 home games conceding only 4 in return.

Predicted Scoreline

Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Malaga We expect Robert Lewandowski and co to be in fine form, and the Germans will be looking for a win here after suffering a bitter set-back in the Bundesliga. Source: IBtimes
