Cardiff: 5 Reasons Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Can Save The Bluebirds

5. New-found Belief

The first reason is pretty simple. In most cases new-found belief occurs whenever a manager takes the helm at a new club. With a new manager every player has to make an impression. There's chances for former fringe players to show they have the ability to compete at the highest level while players that were already playing regular football will need to up their game and perform at their best to show they still deserve their place in the starting line-up. Saturday's thrilling FA Cup victory at St. James' Park demonstrated this belief clearly. Here was a side a long way from home at one of the league's toughest grounds to visit. Newcastle have had a brilliant season and will have hopes of European football next year. Yet, Cardiff toppled them. They were the underdogs, there's no doubt about it. The vision Solksjaer demonstrated at his unveiling was impressive and on the field, where it matters, his players stunned pretty much everyone. Much of the credit for the victory should be reserved for their new manager, who has immediately made an impact.
