Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool: Premier League Player Ratings

Oscar: Driving forward helped to make Hazard equalizer and assist for Eto'o goal. Booked for a spat with Lucas over a poor two-footed lunge deep in stoppage time, which rather spoiled his afternoon. 5.5/10. Willian: Popped up every now and then, but gave little other than graft to the cause. You can tell it's his first time playing in Europe in winter. No break like in Ukraine here. 5/10. Samuel Eto'o: Lucky to escape punishment for studs showing knee-high challenge on Henderson early on, though Liverpool scored from subsequent free kick. Later scored a scrappy second goal for Chelsea at close range. Just got ahead of Skrtel here. Drew a save from Mignolet on near post in second half. Took a chance when he barged into Suarez in the box at 2-1. Subbed and looked spent after a mixed and eventful display. 6/10. Subs: Ashley Cole: Replaced Ivanovic after half an hour as a precaution. Azpilicueta moved to right back. Poor clearance to Sterling cross led to Allen opportunity at 2-1. Solid from England centurion though. 5.5/10. John Obi Mikel: Came on for second half when Lampard picked up a thigh problem. Average at the base of Blues midfield. 5/10. Fernando Torres: Late cameo against former club in place of Eto'o and had one shot straight at Mignolet. Rating N/A. Click next for Liverpool player ratings.
