Chelsea 3-1 Man Utd: Premier League Player Ratings

Man Utd

David De Gea: Should've kept second Eto'o goal out and could only parry Cahill's header to him for the third. Deflection on the opener meant he could do nothing about that one. 4.5/10. Rafael: Deserted his near post by pushing out too late for the second Eto'o goal. Switched to left back when Evra got injured. Booked for a late two-footed lunge on Cahill at the death. Should've been sent off. 4/10. Nemanja Vidic: Sent off in stoppage time for an intentional lunge on Hazard. Eto'o ran riot in the penalty area at set pieces. 3/10. Jonny Evans: Lost Cahill in the build-up to third Eto'o goal. Northern Irishman was back from injury, but chopping and changing isn't helping. 4/10. Patrice Evra: Also at fault for second Eto'o goal. Subbed with an injury. 4.5/10. Antonio Valencia: Booked for tripping Azpilicueta. Threat limited by the Chelsea fullback today. 4.5/10. Phil Jones: Beaten by Eto'o for the first goal. Looked as though Moyes had rushed him back. Assisted Hernandez's consolation. 5/10. Michael Carrick: Eto'o shot deflected off him for the opening goal. Steady presence completed upstaged by Chelsea's advanced midfield trio. 5/10. Ashley Young: Drew low stop from Cech early on. Booked for stopping Ramires in full flow and offered little else. Subbed. 4.5/10. Adnan Januzaj: Another match in the hole with Moyes gambling on him producing. He did not. Moved to the left when Young came off. 4.5/10. Danny Welbeck: Scuffed a close range effort straight at Cech. Headed wide from a corner at 3-0 down. Played a major part in Hernandez's consolation. 5/10. Subs: Chris Smalling: Replaced injured Evra five minutes into the second half. Yet another defensive reshuffle which is counterproductive to stability. 4.5/10. Javier Hernandez: Given half an hour in place of Young and almost punished Cech's error at 3-0 down. Slid in a consolation with predatory movement at the back post. Headed straight at Cech late on. 5/10. Who was your man of the match? Have your say below.
