Chelsea 3-1 Southampton: 5 Things To Consider

Chelsea moved up to 2nd in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory in an entertaining game at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, in front of the Sky cameras. It was a tale of two halves, as Southampton found themselves 1-0 up after only 13 seconds after Michael Essien's horror backpass was gobbled up and despatched by Jay Rodriguez. But, Chelsea roared back with an impressive 2nd half performance which was too much for the Saints to handle. Goals from centre halves, Cahill and Terry in addition to a late goal from substitute Demba Ba saw Chelsea secure the 3 points to maintain Mourinho's exceptional Premier League home record. Southampton have hit a sticky patch and were dealt a hammer blow after the game, with the news that Artur Boruc will miss 6 weeks with a fractured hand, sustained in the build up to the first Chelsea goal. Here, WhatCulture take a closer look at 5 things that we learned from Sunday's game.
