4. Emphasis On Youth
Chelsea have a bedrock of young players in their squad who are only going to mature and get better, and they need a manager who can get the best out of them. Jurgen Klopp is one of the most successful coaches in the game today at nurturing young talents - he took academy graduates Mario Gotze, Nuri Sahin and Marcel Schmelzer and gave them a run in his Borussia Dortmund side, and it has paid off tenfold. He also recognised the potential in Mats Hummels, who had already been brought in on loan prior to his arrival at the Westfalenstadion, but wasted no time in making his signing permanent for a cut-price 4 million. Now considered one of the best young centre-backs in the world, his market value has been
quoted at £25 million. Klopp could help turn the likes of Ryan Bertrand, Marko Marin, Eden Hazard, Oscar and Romeu into similarly world class players the way he has done with his young, all conquering Dortmund side. Reports emerged recently that Mourinho
won't take the Chelsea job unless 34-year old Frank Lampard gets a new contract. For me, that would be a regressive move and it's time the Blues moved on the stalwart in favour of bringing through younger players, something which Klopp would be more likely to do than Mourinho.
