Chelsea Transfers - 10 Strikers To Fire The Blues To Title Glory In 2015

8. Christian Benteke

Christian Benteke was something of an anonymity when he arrived at Aston Villa from lowly Genk in 2012, but rapidly came to prominence by scoring 23 goals in his first season at Villa Park. Naturally, this led to Chelsea showing an interest, with the Blues keen on signing the Belgian for £25 million last July, while they were again linked with the player back in January. Benteke even handed in a transfer request last summer but later retracted it to sign a new deal at Villa, and endured a frustrating second season that was curtailed by a ruptured achilles tendon. The 23-year-old will miss the World Cup as a result, though his fitness troubles may not dissuade Chelsea from making a fresh offer if Mourinho sees the striker as the solution to his forward problems. With Benteke popping up on Chelsea's radar in each of the last two transfer windows, will the Blues make it three out of three, or have they cooled their interest in the forward?
