Chelsea Transfers: 5 Forwards To Replace Daniel Sturridge

1. Radamel Falcao

Falcao Premier League Champions Manchester City have registered an interest in the Colombian, but it is Chelsea who lead the way for Radamel Falcao's signature. Falcao only signed from Porto in 2011 to replace Sergio Aguero, who left Atletico for Man City that year. He stepped up to the plate and scored 36 times in 50 appearances and has managed 20 goals in 16 La Liga appearances this season. However, given Madrid's current financial woes, they could be tempted to offload the player should an offer come in. The forward has a £28million release clause in his contract and that sort of money is hardly "breaking the bank" for Abramovic. Man City's interest has cooled of late given they have an abundance of attacking riches at the Etihad, with Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli all competing for places, it is perhaps doubtful Falcao will make the move to Manchester with such uncertainty surrounding a regular starting spot. By contrast, he would be guaranteed to walk into Chelsea's side given Fernando Torres is the only out and out forward at Stamford Bridge.
