Chelsea Transfers: 5 Players Mourinho Must Sign To Secure Premier League

5. Antoine Griezmann

The 24-year-old would be a superb signing for the Southwest London club, capable of playing in a number of attacking positions. Nimble and agile, the Atletico Madrid forward would best suit Chelsea€™s right flank, replacing Willian in the line up. The Brazilian, though a fantastic player with an admirable work rate, would be a solid signing for any top club, but would lose out to Griezmann in skill and technicality in a like-for-like comparison. Playing on the opposite wing to Hazard, the former Sociedad man could feed the Blues€™ star player and indeed benefit from his play. In only 37 games for Atlético he has netted 22 times and assisted 3; a tremendous record for a player who took very little time to adapt to La Liga life. Pace, both on and off the ball, and neat footwork find him in crucial positions of the final third, before playing off to a teammate or going for goal himself. Considering the latter, a tidy finish and punchy strike put the odds of finding the net in the Frenchman€™s favour. With recent news suggesting striker Loic Remy may be moving in the opposite direction, a move for Griezmann becomes more logical, with Atleti boss Diego Simeone using the forward as a second striker. An outgoing player could also lessen the blow of the £43m required to activate his release clause.
