Simply put, Torres' stay with Chelsea has been arguably the biggest transfer flop that has been seen in the history of the Premier League. After being nothing short of prolific over two seasons at Liverpool under Rafael Benitez, the introduction of Roy Hodgson was the beginning of the fall of a player who was once one of the most feared goalscorers on the planet. Unfortunately for Torres, his confidence has been on the drop ever since and even when he has gone on a run of scoring in the blue shirt, it has never lasted. I highly doubt that Jose Mourinho, if appointed, would be in favour of giving the Spaniard the chance to prove himself again in a bid to find form. One of the more frustrating players currently in the Premier League, he has undoubted talent, and Chelsea would not let him leave on the cheap because he does have it in him to be prolific once more. He has already been linked with moves to former clubs Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, both of whom would not complain to have him back in familiar surroundings, surroundings which made him one of Europe's hottest properties. Can he reach those heights again? Not at Chelsea, and not under Jose Mourinho, I fear. Who do you think Mourinho will need to clear out when and if he takes over at Chelsea? Share your picks below.
