A cherry was placed on top of the cake that was the news of Mourinho's impending return to Stamford Bridge today when it was announced the Portuguese wanted to bring star striker Cristiano Ronaldo with him this summer. Along with Lionel Messi, Ronaldo has been one of the world's best players in recent times and the very thought of seeing the former Manchester United ace trot out in Blue next season will cause fans to foam at the mouth. It is thought Mourinho will make a
£60 million bid to bring his current player to London when he takes over from 'interim' Rafael Benitez in a few months, and though that may be £20 million less than Real paid for the star when they bought him in a word record breaking £80 million deal back in 2009, they could be tempted to cash in as talks over a new deal with the ace continue to stall. Ronaldo's loyalties with former club United, in particular his affinity with Sir Alex Ferguson, may by a stumbling block in any such move however, but Chelsea would be more likely to be able to afford the mega-star than their rivals.
