3. Julian Draxler
You'd be forgiven for thinking Chelsea already have enough midfielders, considering they have Frank Lampard, Ramires, Oscar, Juan Mata and new recruits Kevin De Bruyne, Willian and Marco van Ginkel. Amazingly, however, Mourinho is about to make a January move for Shalke star Julian Draxler, according to the
Daily Star. The Blues first showed an interest in the 20-year-old earlier in the summer and, according to reports, are set to renew that interest in the winter window. Mourinho is set to be without van Ginkel for
six to nine months after the midfielder tore his anterior cruciate ligament in the League Cup win over Swindon. Meanwhile, questions have been raised over the future of Mata, who has found himself dropped by Mourinho on a number of occasions this season. Then there's the issue of finding a long-term replacement for Frank Lampard, who could be in his final season. And that could all warrant a move for Draxler, who is considered one of the finest young talents in Europe and whom impressed last season by scoring 10 Bundesliga goals.
