3. Los Angeles Galaxy
D-Becks (or David Beckham as any sane minded person would call him) has left, and while Carlo Cudicini is a very good goalkeeper the Galaxy are not going to sell many tickets off the back of him. Lampard, on the other hand, would bring a few more bums on seats, plus a dedication that Beckham was accused of lacking in his early years. The MLS is expanding and becoming more powerful, to the extent that they will no longer be bossed around by players wanting to return to Europe on loan during the off season. They realise the need to have everyone ready for pre-season training, and if a deal could be done then they should sign Lampard now rather than wait until midway through their season. It would also give Lampard time to recharge his batteries and adjust to a new country, rather than rush from one season into another, with all the added upheaval of finding a new house for him and his girlfriend, TV presenter Christine Bleakley.
