Chelsea's most hated player by far however has to be Ashley Cole. Like Terry, Cole was embroiled in a series of controversies throughout his career at Chelsea, which include a tapping up scandal, cheating on wife Cheryl Cole and even shooting a student at close range with an air rifle. n 2005, Chelsea, their manager Jose Mourinho and then-Arsenal defender Cole were all found guilty of secretly meeting at a London restaurant without the Gunnerss prior permission as Cole attempted to engineer a move away from the Emirates, and as a result became something of a Judas figure among Gooners. Then, in 2010, it was revealed Cole had had an affair and cheated on wife Cheryl, who promptly announced she was splitting from the shamed defender. A year later, In February 2011, the Chelsea left-back was at the heart of another media storm when it was revealed he had accidentally gunned down sports science student Tom Cowan with an air rifle. Cole was larking about at the Bluess training ground when the incident happened, and struck Cowan from just five feet away. It is moments of idiocy such as these that make Cole very hard to like indeed, and though he may be revered by Chelsea fans, like everyone else on this list, he will always be reviled by their rivals.
