England Squad Reaction

Midfielders: Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend, Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere Though I am all for blooding the youngsters into the national set up, it is good to see Gerrard and Lampard are still first on the midfield team sheet. Their experience is valuable alongside the youngsters and both have been in this position on countless occasions. There are also well deserved call ups for Barkley and Townsend who have been in fine form along with Walcott and Wilshire. Cleverley has been playing well for Manchester United but I don€™t think he is quite good enough to be a regular in the squad, unlike Carrick, who is finally getting some recognition after years of being overlooked for the national set up. Bench warmers Milner and especially Sterling should not be in the squad and regular performers like Routledge perhaps or the constantly overlooked Kevin Nolan should finally get a chance on the international stage. Plus, England have been craving a successor to the Robot and Nolan€™s novelty celebration can duly deliver
