England vs Denmark: Who Is Going To Brazil?

It was another frustrating night for England fans at Wembley (how many other World Cup warm ups down the years have concluded with that phrase?). At least the team improved on their previous two home results with a goal and a win, albeit against noticeably lesser opposition, but it was a close run thing for quite a while. The real purpose of the game, though, was to test out which players would make the grade to go to Brazil, the last time for Hodgson properly to experiment before having to select his final World Cup squad this summer. In this, too, Roy would leave fans and players alike frustrated. Having suggested he would rest regular starters and give fringe players a chance to prove themselves, his team selection turned out to be deeply conservative. The likes of Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Gerrard, Sturridge and Rooney are all dead certs for the World Cup and nothing they could do against Denmark could change that (Rooney's performance was poor and aimless, but he'll still be the first name on the team sheet when England kick off in the Amazon). But what of those fringe players? Has the Denmark game helped Hodgson make up his mind who's in and who's out? Let's take a look at where the Denmark game has left those players nervously awaiting the final squad.
