Everton Transfers: 5 Replacements For Romelu Lukaku

2. Edin Dzeko (Manchester City)

Should Martinez capture Edin Dzeko in the summer, it would be quite a shock. In fact, at first glance, it may seem illogical, as the Bosnian has 17 goals this season as part of Manchester City's red-hot attack. He is a regular part of the line-up, and would possibly have to give up on Champions League football next season if he was to make the move to Goodison Park. However, the possibility of him becoming surplus to requirements at the Etihad should not be dismissed. His scoring rate at Man City has not been astounding overall, and before this season kicked off he was being linked with a move away. Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero would be the first choice pairing for Manuel Pellegrini, and while Dzeko provides him with a fantastic option of a greater aerial threat, the former Wolfsburg giant may eventually long to be the main man once again. While Everton may not be able to afford to buy Dzeko outright, it is possibly worth enquiring about a loan deal where the Toffees pay some of his wages. It would provide him with the guaranteed first-team football he would surely be desiring, and with the Bosnian turning 28 in March he is in his physical prime. He would be the perfect target man to fill the hole left by a departing Lukaku.
