Every Current Premier League Manager As Footballers Ranked - Worst To Best
14. Jurgen Klopp - Liverpool
Just about everything Jurgen Klopp has touched has turned to gold for Liverpool this season, with the German manager proving an instrumental force in returning the perpetual bridesmaids of recent years into one of English football's most dominant forces once more.
Though Klopp's coaching pedigree and innovative footballing philosophies have earned him plaudits from across the sport, his playing career was significantly more understated, to say the least.
An industrious striker who eventually made his way down to defence, Klopp was a hard-working but unremarkable player who spent the majority of his career at Mainz 05 in the German second tier before retiring in 2001 to serve as the club's manager. As manager, Klopp would go on to earn the side promotion to the Bundesliga, and the rest, as they say, was history.
