F1 2013 Season Finale: 5 Reasons Why The Brazilian Grand Prix Is A Must-See Race

3. Jenson Button Becomes Most Experienced Brit

Jenson Button At the United States Grand Prix last weekend, McLaren€™s Jenson Button became the joint most experienced British driver in Formula 1, as he started his 246th race. BBC commentator and former Formula 1 winner David Coulthard holds the same number of race starts, but this weekend Button will overtake him on the stats sheets and become the most experienced Brit. Jenson Button€™s season this year has been one to forget, with abysmal results and lowly finishing positions being a sad turn for the 2009 world champion. Jenson Button won the Brazilian Grand Prix last year, driving a faultless race through the rain of Sao Paulo. That was the last time he, or McLaren, were on the podium, and the Brazilian Grand Prix this year will be the end of a bad season. However, he will nonetheless be enjoying driving for the famous McLaren outfit, and the record 247th start may not yield the results but will still be entertaining. Jenson Button is a master in wet conditions, and rain has affected Brazilian Grands Prix in the past. With no wet-races at all in 2013, a rain hit Sao Paulo could be a good way for Jenson Button to smile again. One only has to look back on his career-defining drives at the wet 2006 Hungarian Grand Prix and 2011 Canadian Grand Prix to know that he is a capable winner, and a force to be reckoned with in the rain. Also significant about the race will be the final time that the bright red/orange of the Vodafone sponsors adorns the McLaren cars. The telecoms giant will be leaving McLaren this year after being the title sponsor since 2007. The familiar silver and red of the McLarens may not be seen again.
