Fabricio Coloccini - "One Of My Dreams Is To Play At Newcastle For 10 Years"

Captain Colo is targeting a Tyneside testimonial.

Fabricio Coloccini has admitted that it is one of his "dreams" to stay at Newcastle United for another three seasons - so that he will have completed 10 years at the club. Magpies captain Coloccini, who ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year deal at the club last week, sent an email to Magpies supporters on Thursday night reaffirming his commitment to Newcastle United but also confirming that there had been interest in his signature from elsewhere. The 33-year-old Argentine - who was linked with a reunion with former boss Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace this summer and with a move to Greek side Olympiacos - claims he is concentrating on the "present" but that reaching his testimonial year would be a brilliant achievement.

Speaking to NUFCTV, Coloccini said:
"Maybe (it is) one of my dreams (to play 10 years at Newcastle). "Of course I need to think in the present and keep (my) feet (on the ground) because of course I will have to work harder than normal but I'm looking for that. "The first thing is to play well every Saturday, every Sunday, and then times will decide."
Coloccini is expected to continue his fledgling central-defensive partnership alongside Chancel Mbemba when Newcastle travel to the Liberty Stadium to play Swansea City (3pm kick-off) in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
