Fantasy Football Tips: 5 Transfers You Must Make In Gameweek 32

2. Edin Dzeko

Team: Manchester City Position: Forward Value: £6.8m Selected by: 9.5% Total score: 98 Points from last 4 games: 20 (avg. 5 ppg) Next 4 fixtures: Arsenal (A), Southampton (H), Liverpool (A), Sunderland (H) Dzeko could have scored substantially more points if he had participated in the 5-0 thrashing of Fulham in the first leg of an exciting Gameweek 31. In fairness, the Bosnian is actually not so much of a stand out player. His stats pale in comparison to the rest of his talented teammates. Dzeko has the lowest shooting accuracy among the other three City forwards, and his 25 shots on target in 22 appearances highlights his unpredictable performance that is one of the reasons why Manuel Pelligrini favors Sergio Agüero and lvaro Negredo over the 1.93m striker. In his defence, before Agüero got injured, he was often utilised behind the Argentinean, limiting his opportunities to score, and restricting his scoring abilities. After the lethal striker encountered a series of unfortunate injuries, Dzeko is more wisely used in a more prominent position at the front of the offense, with Negredo adopting a deeper, more supporting role behind him, and immediately his clinical instincts have helped him score three goals in his last two games. With Negredo preferring to shoot from distance (35% of his 63 shots are from outside the penalty area), Dzeko has went back to his favorite modus operandi of operating inside the box that proved so devastating during his time at Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga. However, a tricky schedule awaits City. With a trip down to Arsenal, who conceded a late own goal to gift Swansea a point, overachievers Southampton, and free-scoring Liverpool to come, Dzeko might find it hard to break down their defences. He will still deliver the goods and pop in a couple of goals, but don't expect a double-digit performance from the 28 year-old every week. At a price of £6.8m, he should be a more than decent stand-in for Jay Rodriguez (Southampton, £6.6m), who is conveniently out with a leg injury for an undisclosed amount of time when I need him the most. With teammate Agüero out as well, I wouldn't be surprised if Pelligrini utilises him for the full duration of the game in their next few fixtures. Personally, if you're not rushing to transfer or anything, I will recommend taking a back seat and wait till the Liverpool game is over before buying him. The Citizens will be left with matches against lower opposition like Crystal Palace and West Ham United, and if Dzeko's form continues to go hotter in his next three matches, he will warrant a transfer as a "final transfer to prep for the end of the season. But, Agüero will most probably be back by then, so Dzeko might be relegated to the bench with Stevan Joveti‡. It's confusing isn't it? Always trust your instincts.
