Fantasy Football Tips: 9 Essential Transfers You Must Make In Gameweek 30

2. Ross Barkley

Team: Everton (vs Cardiff City, home) Position: Midfielder Value: £5.1m Selected by: 17.1% Total score: 69 Why the hell is Ross Barkley still in your team? Barkley has been selected by 17.1% of teams, making him the 5th most selected midfielder in the game, which is just baffling to say the least. At £5.1m, he might be a good budget option, but look at the points he has been churning out in his past few performances. 22 points in 10 games translated to English simply means "go look for another player". With his high selection rate I'm assuming the majority of players are jumping on the bandwagon initiated by the British press. It's true, this talented English prodigy is playing excellent football, but it just so happens that points are not credited to players who are not involved in the final pass leading to the goal. This is very well illustrated by the fact that out of 21 goal scoring chances he created so far, only 3 assists were registered to him. Me, personally, there is good business to be done here from the sale of Barkley (please sell him, seriously, the 17.1% of you). With the freed-up funds, I'm thinking you could get Bradley Johnson (Norwich), who cost only £4.4m, has been performing reasonably well for the last couple of weeks, and might I add, has only 3 less points than Barkley, and use the remainder to shore up the quality of another player. The quality of the 'upgrade' might not be significant, but it definitely beats having the Everton midfielder in your team. Seriously, I don't get it.
