This one's obvious. Marcos Alonso was the top scoring defender of the last Premier League season and has been prolific since his arrival in the Premier League. He scored six goals in his first season and seven in his second. At £6.5m, Alonso isn't particularly cheap but offers huge value compared to many midfielders and forwards who are priced much higher.

New Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri likes to play attacking, possession-based football not too dissimilar to Pep Guardiola's style at Manchester City. This new system could really suit Alonso, who should once again be given free rein to get forward and get involved with his team's offensive moves.

The 27-year-old also has the benefit of not having played in the World Cup, meaning he'll be fitter and fresher than many of the Premier League's other top defenders. Having earnt 177 points in his first season and 165 in his second, Alonso is a huge fantasy player and will be one of the most popular picks for this coming season.
