Fantasy Premier League 2018-19 Tips: 10 Defenders You Must Sign
4. Patrick Van Aanholt (Crystal Palace)
Crystal Palace's Patrick van Aanholt probably wouldn't be the first name of many player's minds as they assemble their fantasy squads for the new season, but the £5.5m rated full-back could prove to be a very shrewd selection and was one of last season's top scoring defenders.
The Netherlands international has only been with Palace for a year and a half but has already scored 7 times in 39 league appearances. Eager to push down the wing and get involved in attacking moves, Van Aanholt sometimes acts more like a left midfielder than a defender and is blessed with excellent dribbling skills.
At 27, he's in the peak years of his career and has scored four or more goals in three out of his four Premier League seasons. Logic dictates he'll score again this year and should also be able to contribute some clean sheet bonus points as Palace continue to become a stronger defensive side under former England boss Roy Hodgson.
