Fantasy Premier League Tips: 10 Best Pound For Points Strikers

8. Christian Benteke (Crystal Palace) - £8m

That Christian Benteke was able to score 15 Premier League goals under two managers as negative as Sam Allardyce and Alan Pardew last season speaks volumes of his quality as a forward. His meek Liverpool spell aside, the Belgian has been one of the top tier's most reliable goalscorers over the past five years, and notched an impressive 136 points for an unexciting Crystal Palace side in 2016-17.

With an £8m price tap, this makes Benteke one of the most enticing forward options in this year's game. The likes of Connor Wickham aren't exactly going to dislodge him from the first team, and with players like Wilfried Zaha supplying the assists and an attack-minded manager in Frank de Boer at the helm, he has every chance of bettering last year's points total.

Despite all this, Benteke does come with a couple of notable disadvantages. His points total would be much higher without his shoddy disciplinary record (10 yellow cards in 2016-17) and he's a streaky player, often going 4-5 games without scoring. Regardless, he'll definitely put points on the board, and there'll inevitably be weeks where he's among Fantasy's highest scorers.
