With an average of 4.7 tackles and 3.1 interceptions per game, the 27 year old Spanish player is more than deserving of a place at the right hand side of the statistics back-line. At 5ft 11, Lopez is perfect height for bombing up and down the right-wing. He was signed by Espanyol in 2007 from the Betis B team and subsequently spent 3 years playing for the Espanyol B team. After relegation from the Spanish Segunda into the Tercera Division in 2008, he helped his team to promotion the following season and finishing top of the league. Since promotion to the Espanyol first team in the 2010-11 season by, now Southampton manager, Mauricio Pochettino he hasn't looked back.
