Emerging from the youth ranks at Rangers, Allan McGregor was the best Scottish goalkeeper the club's fans had experienced since the days of Andy Goram, and he deservedly became a regular starter once Walter Smith returned to Ibrox in 2007. The previous boss, Paul Le Guen, had much preferred Lionel Letizi, but it was clear that McGregor was far better equipped.

Electing against the idea of transferring his contract over to the new business company governing Glasgow Rangers in the Summer of 2012, the goalkeeper was snapped up by Turkish club, Besiktas, where he played for one season before returning to the British game with Hull City.

Paid an exorbitant salary by the Turkish team, McGregor earned up to 1.2 million Euros for just one season, and is still raking it in as Hull's first choice keeper. A talented individual who was renowned for making game-winning saves during his Rangers tenure, the Teddy Bears haven't quite had a man between the sticks as good since.
