Of all the players signed during the Frenchman's short reign as manager, Sasa Papac must rank as the best player Paul Le Guen ever bought during his time in charge at Glasgow Rangers. The Bosnian had a shaky start, just like virtually everyone Le Guen brought in to the mix at Ibrox, but he eventually developed into the best left back the club had seen for years.

Chipping in with a few goals, Papac was rarely fancy, and actually often looked uncomfortable with the ball at his feet, but he was sturdy. Retiring at the end of season 2011-2012, the defender left Rangers with the best wishes of the fans, even if some were hopeful that he would return once it became clear the club would be so short on players.

After a few years spent largely out of the footballing spotlight, Sasa Papac has been hired as a talent scout for the Bosnian national side, so maybe a future in scouting for club teams also beckons for the unlikely hero.
