Hull 0-2 Chelsea: Premier League Player Ratings

Chelsea

Petr Cech: Broke Blues' clean sheet record today that was held by Peter Bonetti. It was also a 150th Premier League shutout for Cech. Held Elmohamady strike early on and palmed behind from Livermore, but had little to do here. 5.5/10. Cesar Azpilicueta: Right back was quiet today, but another clean sheet. 5.5/10. Gary Cahill: Booked for a harsh handball when the ball came off his shoulder. Shackled Sagbo for long spells. 6/10. John Terry: A few nervy moments in defence today, but Blues captain got away with it here. 5.5/10. Ashley Cole: Pinned back throughout the first half by the marauding Elmohamady. Despite this he still popped up to assist Hazard's opener after the break. 5.5/10. Ramires: Decent showing in the box-to-box role today. Avoided the customary rash booking and caused some problems. Subbed. 5.5/10. David Luiz: Saw a late first half free kick tipped over by McGregor. Caused the Tigers stopper to parry another set piece in second half. These apart he had lots of touches in midfield. 6/10. Willian: Curled a free kick from a tight angle across goal and wide at 1-0 and an effort from open play trickled off target. Assisted Torres goal before being subbed. 5.5/10. Oscar: Close range effort brilliantly saved by McGregor and Davies blocked another goalbound effort in the second half. An unlucky day for the Bazilian. Subbed. 5.5/10. Eden Hazard: Our man of the match. Grew in stature and was once again instrumental in Chelsea winning a match. Shot wide after coming inside early in second half, but scored the opener with a second attempt. A third effort was later blocked by Chester. 7/10. Fernando Torres: This was his 200th Premier League appearance and, like so many of those that have come in Chelsea colours, it was utterly forgettable until he fired in a second goal which sealed victory. 5.5/10. Subs: John Obi Mikel: Given the last ten minutes to shore up midfield and see out the win. Rating N/A. Andre Schurrle: Replaced Willian for the final few minutes. Rating N/A. Michael Essien: A cameo for the Ghanaian for stoppage time. Rating N/A. Who was your man of the match? Have your say below.
