Hull vs West Ham: 5 Reasons Why Tigers Can Pull Off An Upset

2. West Ham Can't Win Away From Home

West Ham have not registered a win in the league since the opening day of the season, a worrying stat for any Hammer reading this article. Worst still they have failed to even score in 3 of their 5 games thus far, the injury to Andy Carroll no doubt playing some part of this. Looking at the West Ham team they certainly lack the cutting edge and creative invention to unlock or dismantle teams, highlighted by their decision to possibly take back Carlton Cole who they released earlier this summer. The likes of Maiga (who flourished in Ligue 1) and Vaz Te don't seem to offer anything up front and certainly won't scare any defences they come up against, behind them in midfield they lack anything on the wings as I don't see Joe Cole or Downing creating much this season. Last year saw the Hammers lose 12 of their 18 away games which dented at slim hopes of making a charge for Europe and will be a area Sam Allardyce will want to improve on if they are to better their 10th place finish. Combining with Hull's impressive defensive record is the woeful factor that West haven't scored away from home yet and have only notched up 8 shots on target in their opening five games. If this stat doesn't improve for the match-up with Hull I certainly fancy the Tigers to get three points at home.
