In one of the most fun transfer rumours to emerge so far this summer, The Sportsman (via Italy's SportItalia) are claiming that Serie A new boys Parma will offer Peter Crouch an escape route from Stoke City.

The 37-year old striker is set to leave The Potters after they were relegated from the Premier League last season, and it's possible footy fans will see him lining up for games at the San Siro and Stadio Olympic when the new campaign kicks off in Italy.

Parma's recent rise from the ashes of financial hell has been astounding. After filing for bankruptcy in 2014 with unpaid bills of €218 million, the club was reborn in 2015 as Parma Calcio 1913 and secured a historic treble of promotions from the far-flung reaches of Serie D to reclaim their top division status.

Now, ex-England, Liverpool and Spurs forward Crouch could be pulling on their colours as the club embark on the final stage of their rebuilding process in Serie A.

Although the lanky Englishman only netted five league goals during a dismal campaign for Stoke, he is a solid option for teams playing the long ball system. Look out, Italy, because the robot is (possibly) coming.
