The Premier League has seen many incredible strikers over the years, but none made the opposition and their fans as nervous quite like Thierry Henry did. His pace, power and accuracy allowed him to make a mockery of great defenders in the Premier League time and time again. The fact that he was universally respected by most fans (even Tottenham supporters couldn't find a soft sport for the man) goes to show how fantastic of a player he really was. You probably hated the fact that he made your team look like amateurs but you saluted his brilliance regardless.
Subs Bench: Petr Cech, Rio Ferdinand, Patrice Evra, Steven Gerrard, Matt Le Tissier, Dennis Bergkamp, Alan Shearer
Every single player on this bench at some point made it onto the first eleven. In fact, even more made it onto the bench but eventually had to be taken off. That's how tough making this list was. Petr Cech, arguably Jose Mourinho's best signing after Didier Drogba, would be the goalkeeping cover. Sure, Cech made some great saves but the biggest compliment any non-Chelsea fan could give the six-foot-five Czech is that when he's in goal it's difficult to imagine your team putting one, let alone two, past him. In defence, two Manchester United mainstays in Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra. Both men defended aggressively but with plenty of composure, making it difficult for any forward to gain an inch let alone a goal, which is probably why Ferguson loved both players so much. The midfield area is covered by not only two of the best players England has ever produced, but two of the greatest to never win the Premier League. Considering the amount of absolutely spectacular goals he's scored over the years, it's strange to say that Steven Gerrard would be the one doing the majority of the defensive duties if he came on, but with a player like Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier in your team, it's best to let the twinkle toes of 'Le God' do their thing up the other end of the pitch. In fact, put either of these players anywhere in the midfield and they'll do a job for you. And arguably the most difficult thing to pick is who would be the supporting cast is up front. From Andrew Cole to Gianfranco Zola, picking out the two strikers who could come on for the number one was a tough choice, but it's hard to be disappointed with two players like Dennis Bergkamp and Alan Shearer coming on to lead your line if needed too.
