This shocking moment quickly landed Suarez a two game ban and a massive fine from his club Ajax. The ban was quickly extended to 7 games however with Suarez falling foul of a football disciplinary committee It was an unprovoked moment of pure madness from Suarez and what made it even more nonsensical is that up until that point Suarez had been having a good season for the Dutch giants. Early on in the season he scored his 100th goal for Ajax making him as good as many of the Dutch footballing legends that graced Ajax before him. Soon after the bite Ajax were looking to offload their troublesome striker despite being on great terms with him at the start of the season. Suarez was quickly sold on during the January transfer window while still suspended by Dutch football for the bite. Suarez did later apologize for the bite and did leave Ajax with the fans giving him a genuine heartfelt send off for his last game even though of course he couldnt play in it. Its the thing most amazing about Suarez is that his skills on a football pitch still makes fans love him despite his moments of sheer madness. Ajax gained 22 million Euros for the sale of Luis Suarez and the club got over the biting scandal quickly and claimed the Eredivisie title at the end of the season. The club even sent Suarez a winners medal after his contribution of 7 goals in 13 league games again making his mid-season bite seem even more badly thought and baffling.
