Liverpool Transfers: 10 Strikers Rodgers Must Bring To Anfield

4. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar

Club: Schalke Prolific in almost every season he has played in the top levels of European football, other than his ill-fated and brief stints at Real Madrid and AC Milan, the former Ajax striker has scored 190 league goals in 290 games, and has the better than a goal a game average that most consider a reflection of quality in a striker. At 29, and without Premier League experience, he may represent something of a gamble, in comparison to others on the list, but the forward has shown his abilities in both the Dutch and German leagues, and both tend to be bountiful grounds for Premier League clubs to pick up emerging talents these days. The Dutch international would bring pedigree, as well as an impressive ability to hit the back of the net, and he could well prove to be the perfect foil for Luis Suarez, whose relationship with Fabio Borini on the pitch hasn't exactly paid off much so far this season. Unfortunately, he would also probably come with a big price tag, though the mooted £17million buy-out clause (suggested by the Mail Online), would look a steal if the striker hit the kind of form that has seen him score 66 goals in just 90 appearances for Schalke.
