2. Benoit Assou-Ekotto
The Tottenham left-back has been linked with an exit from White Hart Lane since January and is a
reported target for Liverpool this summer. Though Assou-Ekotto doesn't fit into the Reds' policy of signing young, up and coming players, at 29, the Cameroonian is, much like new recruit Kolo Toure, the finished article and could provide Rodgers with much needed experience at the back next season. Spurs are already planning for life without the fullback and have been linked with a move for Alvaro Pereira while Danny Rose has just returned from his loan spell at Sunderland, and so Ekotto may find he is deemed surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane next season. He only made 11 Premier League appearances for Spurs last season and could be looking for a change of scenery after a troublesome 2012/13 campaign, and what's more, he'd still be playing for a top level club, albeit one that is not contesting European football. Nevertheless, a chance of regular, first team action at Anfield may appeal.
