Liverpool Transfers: 6 Players Brendan Rodgers Must Sign

5. Steven N'Zonzi (Blackburn)

Every successful midfield in the Premier League these days features an imposing defensive midfielder, and they don't come much more imposing than Blackburn's French defensive midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, who will surely be looking to move on after the club's relegation to the Championship after a miserable season and barely a whimper. 23-year-old N'Zonzi, who signed from French club Amiens back in 2009 was one of very few shining lights for Blackburn and at times last year he appeared to be carrying the rest of an uninspired Blackburn team. Still young, N'Zonzi will only get better with age, and the fact that Blackburn have been relegated gives his suitors the Premier League football bargaining chip that Rovers just wont be able to compete with until next season at the earliest. Unfortunately for Liverpool, along with Junior Hoilett, N'Zonzi is also arguably Blackburn's most saleable asset, which will boost his price somewhat, but the Frenchman's ambition might see him request a move before the summer window slams shut at the end of August, especially if some of the Premier League's bigger players declare an interest.
