Liverpool Transfers: 7 Players To Make Rodgers' Reds Champions

3. Javier Pastore - Paris St Germain

Javier Pastore signed for Paris St Germain for a reported sum of ‚42 million just two-and-a-half years ago, but has failed to make the same sort of impression as he did during his spell at Palermo. He has made just nine appearances this season and a number of reports suggesting that Blanc may be willing to get rid of any deadwood, a move away may be on the cards for the Argentinian. However, recently there are a number of reports that Pastore has quashed rumours of a link away, but it remains to be seen how reliable these are. His agent is quoted as saying the PSG midfielder would only move for something "colossal", so Rodgers may be forced to break the bank in order to secure his services. It is also suggested that PSG may look to offload Pastore in an attempt to lure Juan Mata to the club and open up space for the Spaniard. Once again, with the abundance of rumours that fly around during the winter window, it is hard to know how valid these reports are. Pastore would add something new to the Liverpool squad and, if he can put in the sort of performances he did at Palermo, the Argentine would prove to be a vital signing for their title run. It would take some serious money and beating off serious competition, however.
