2. Antonio Valencia vs. Jose Enrique
Antonio Valencia started his United career with several performances that justified the large transfer fee from Wigan, but has since become relatively inconsistent. His last campaign was less impressive than past seasons and this may have inspired the signing of Wilfried Zaha. In fact, Valencia could start this game on the bench for all I know. Jose Enrique is now undoubtedly going to start after his only competition to the left back position, Aly Cissokho, was injured and confirmed to be out for a month. Enrique should try to use this spell of consecutive games playing a full 90 minutes in each as a way of putting in good performances to solidify his position in the squad. If he struggles, Cissokho will likely be drafted back into the squad as soon as possible. With both players looking to solidify their positions in their squads, it could be an interesting match-up between the two. Both players are pacey and Enrique may look to go forward with every chance he'll get, making this an intriguing defensive-and-offensive battle between the pair. United could favour Giggs, Zaha or even Kagawa over the Ecuadorian, but the pace of Valencia and his crossing ability could provide some problems for the Liverpool back four. If Enrique can stop the winger who United favours and can venture forward in the process, he could similarly cause some problems.
