Liverpool's 8 Worst Individual Errors Of The Last 25 Years

3. Jerzy Dudek Gifts United Victory

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Lqr46nzIaQ Liverpool against United is always a memorable occasion, and their clash at Anfield in December 2002 was no different. Unfortunately for Dudek, it was a day that will forever haunt him. The Reds were unbeaten at home in almost a year when Ferguson's men came to visit, and the results between the two had been heavily in the Merseyside club's favour. The match was incredibly tight up until the 65th minute, when Dudek's horror moment occurred. Carragher headed the ball back to the Pole, but he somehow let the ball straight through his hands, allowing the much-maligned Diego Forlan to tap the ball into an empty net. It was one of the worst goalkeeping errors in Premier League history. Forlan scored again soon after, and it could actually be argued that Dudek should have saved that effort too. Although Hyypia grabbed a late goal back for Houllier's side, it wasn't enough to deny United all three points. A crestfallen Dudek left the pitch at the end, knowing that he'd just let himself in for a lifetime of ridicule. Luckily for him, his exploits in the 2005 Champions League Final are what he's mainly remembered for now.
