Whilst City were unplayable on the night, they were facing a very under-par Newcastle side who were perhaps further subdued at the potential loss of Yohan Cabaye, as the Frenchman was dropped from the team in the 11th hour following a bid from Arsenal. Obviously, you can only beat what's in front of you and City did that with style, but the visitors hardly put up much of a challenge. In the post-match press conference, Pellegrini stated that whilst he's happy with the performance, there's more to come from the team, so it's reassuring for fans to know that he'll be keeping the players feet firmly on the ground. It'll be interesting to see how they fare in South Wales next weekend, in a full-to-capacity ground hosting its first ever Premier League game. Cardiff were outplayed at West Ham on Saturday but it could be a different story when on home turf, buoyed by the vocal crowd. The Manchester team were actually beaten on their last visit to the area back in 1994 and whilst such upsets are generally a thing of City's past, they're never too far from the mind of any Blues fan.
