Man City 6-0 Spurs: Player Ratings

Fernandinho: Spurs had the better of the midfield battle, but what did it matter? Game rather went on around the Brazilian and that is why Phil Scolari has never selected him for international duty. Fernandinho is totally in Toure's shadow, but live and let live. 5/10. Yaya Toure: Booked for first half foul on Lennon and looked a little laboured. Assisted fourth goal, however, with trademark burst from midfield. 5.5/10. Samir Nasri: Only a superb last ditch tackle from Sandro denied him in first half. Cross-shot chipped Lloris, but came back off the bar in second. Just flashes here, so we expect David Silva to walk back into the XI. 5.5/10. Alvaro Negredo: His shot resulted in second goal. Smashed in fifth after a lovely turn, having done Dawson completely... Spanish striker is forming a super partnership with Aguero. Long may it continue. 7/10. Sergio Aguero: Involved in four of City's six goals. Two tap ins and an assist, so shares man of the match award with Navas. The fact he struggled with injury last season may be a big reason why there was no successful title defence. Argentine back to his best. 8.5/10. Subs: Joleon Lescott: Came on for second half and had nothing of note to do. 5.5/10. Javi Garcia: Brought on to see out victory for the last quarter. Rating N/A. James Milner: Given 15 minutes and long through-ball assisted second Navas goal. Rating N/A. Click next for the Spurs player ratings.
