Man City: Can Sergio Aguero & Alvaro Negredo Form A Lethal Partnership?

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini named a bold and attacking lineup for his side's recent clash against title-rivals Manchester United - with Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo chosen up front. His decision was justified as City ran out 4-1 winners in a convincing performance by last season's runners-up. The pair complimented each other perfectly on the pitch, and linked up very well to score the side's third goal just after the half-time break. Negredo's link-up play a particular delight throughout, and his strength was just one of his many great assets. All that was lacking was a deserved goal from the Spaniard, but nevertheless he's making all the right impressions on the supporters and his manager. His first touch was good in tight situations, and he's a player who is very unselfish. With two goals and two assists from his first five Premier League games, three of which have come from the bench, the 28-year old could hardly have wished for a better start to life as a Manchester City player. He and Aguero appear on the same wavelength, and ran Manchester United's defence ragged working the channels and making clever runs of the centre-backs. Negredo is certainly one to watch, and Sergio Aguero could well forge a devastating partnership with him this season.
