Man City Transfers: 5 Flops That Need To Leave In The Summer

5. Joleon Lescott

Lescott England international Joleon Lescott was signed by City under controversial circumstances back in 2009 but has endured a laboured season at the Etihad this term, falling behind the likes of fellow centre-backs Matija NastasiĀ‡ and Vincent Kompany in the pecking order. He has only made eleven full appearances for the reigning Premier League champions this season, and it is looking increasingly likely that his limited opportunities under Roberto Mancini will see him move on in the summer. In March, it was reported that the centre-half would consider his options at the end of the season before deciding on his future, but with the 2014 World Cup on the horizon, Lescott knows his limited appearances in Sky Blue could hinder his chances in being called up to Roy Hodgson's final squad. City really don't need the former Everton man. Captain Vincent Kompany has been in typically inspired form while NastasiĀ‡ has been a revelation since his move from Fiorentina last year.
