Man City Transfers: 5 Players Who Should Exit This Summer

3. Jack Rodwell

At the age of 16, Rodwell became Everton's youngest player to make an appearance in Europe and from then on he continued to impress with consistent form in the league. The Toffee's had a fantastic prospect on their hands as Rodwell had both the physique and technical poise to mix it with the best of Premier League stars, and inevitably he quickly became one of their most saleable assets, even if David Moyes would have preferred to keep hold of him. In the summer of 2012 Man City came banging on the door with a significant sack of cash and Rodwell answered, signing a five year deal with the league champions. Despite the limited first-team chances that he should have recognised, money and the no doubt egotistical belief that he could force his way into the starting team seemingly blinded the rising midfielder from the stark realisation that at City, he would be no more than a squad member, there to make up the home grown quota. No amount of fan reaction would keep Rodwell at Everton, and he left to make just 16 league appearances with City in the next two years as his career came to a sudden, screeching halt. Now 23-years-old, Rodwell will be looking for a fast track back to the top: Everton would welcome his return, whilst Hull City are reportedly in the hunt for his signature along with seemingly half of the Premier League.
